Covid-19 continues its reign of terror as yet another studio is forced to push back its game’s release date as work slows down to keep its employees safe. This time, it’s Ninjala. The main Twitter account released a video early this morning wherein lead Designer for the game and story, Morishita, and Director Kaneda solemnly address viewers by announcing the game’s new release date. June 24th. Originally slated to arrive later this month, the high flying, wall running ninja brawler has been pushed back as production slows down in order to keep employees safe. I have no qualms with putting people’s lives first (I implore all businesses to do this, PLEASE), and having to wait a few weeks more isn’t that bad.
Ninjala’s open beta concluded not too long ago, and despite some server side issues I found the game to be very fun and potentially addicting. The combat is fast, smooth, and has just enough depth to reward smart plays and quick thinking. This, coupled with a delightfully varied cast with unique personalities means that Gungho may have a sleeper hit on their hands. Oh, and it will be free to play for all Switch Owners. Extra Brownie points!
