As part of their new Holiday showcase, Lenovo’s Legion Slim 7i Gaming Laptop is set to be released around October. Coming in just under four pounds, the Legion Slim also sports NVIDIA’s Advanced Optimus graphics switching and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 with Max-Q. Utilizing Optimus Tech, the Legion can switch back and forth between lower power consumption in less-intensive moments and increased power in GPU-heavy situations. Ideally this can lead to better framerates and improved battery life.
The built-in Max-Q Dynamic Boost allows the system to shift power from the CPU to GPU depending on demand, such as when gaming or rendering with editing software. This could potentially boost performance by up to 10 percent. Not too shabby. The Legion comes fitted with a 71 WHr battery, which has the capacity to last up to 7.75 hours and allows rapid charging. To keep the system nice and cool, Lenovo made the air intake system 31 percent larger. This translates to approximately 115 percent more airflow going to the CPU and GPU compared to older versions.
The Legion is coming in hot with a 10th Gen Intel Core i9 HK-series mobile processor, 2TB of SSD storage, up to 32GB of memory and multiple 15.6-inch screen options. You can choose a 4K display with a 60Hz refresh rate and 600 nits of brightness (great for streamers), or a full HD display with a 144Hz refresh rate (for my gaming enthusiasts out there). All of the displays support Dolby Vision, and the 7i has Dolby Atmos immersive sound.
What’s more, the ‘True Strike’ keyboard is lit with Corsair’s RGB lighting. There’s even a fingerprint reader built into the power button and a privacy shutter on the webcam. When the Legion Slim 7i hits, it will be available in slate gray aluminum and starts at $1,329. Keep an eye out for it this October.
